Dr. Andrew F. Mansueto

Dr. Mansueto is a 1992 graduate of The Indiana University School of Optometry. A native of Munster, Indiana he returned home and opened his private Dyer optometric practice in 1993. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Indiana Optometric Association. Serving as president of the Northwest Section from 2000-2002. He is the coordinator as well as a participant in the Lake Central School Cooperation Vision Screenings held every spring. He stays current in his optometric profession by attending continuing education classes frequently and enjoys sharing new information regarding eyes and vision with his patients.


Chris

Chris has twenty five years of experience in the optometric field. She is ABO certified and has an extensive knowledge of lab work, consulting patients, and the latest technologies in the optical industry. Her favorite part of being an optician is working with patients to find the right fit, with glasses or contact lenses, knowing that she is making a difference in how patients are able to perceive their surroundings.


Judith

Profile Image

Judith has been in the optical industry for the past twenty one years and is certified by both The American Board of Opticianry and The National Contact Lens Examiners. During her career she has worked as a Regional Sales Manager for a west coast optical company, trained and developed new opticians as a Training Coordinator, and managed various optical locations in California,North Carolina, and Illinois. Judith is new to Dr. Mansueto's office and is enjoying her position as an optician and providing patients with a pleasant experience during their visit. She is often the person who answers the phone to schedule your appointment. Judith helps patients with all of their eyewear needs. She enjoys helping with frame selection and finding the perfect pair of glasses to fit a patient's lifestyle. Judith also instructs first time contact lens wearers on proper techniques for insertion and removal of lenses. You will see Judith in the front office where she'll be waiting to get you started on your visit.


Lisa

Lisa has been with Dr. Mansueto's office since the fall of 2002. She is the first person you meet as you walk through the front door. She will schedule your appointment or verify any vision insurance coverage. She gives 100% effort all of the time to make the paperwork portion of your visit go as smoothly as possible.

Located one block south of Route 30 in Dyer, Dr. Mansueto's office is off the main highway which allows patients to find the office without the traffic of Route 30. The parking lot is paved and has plenty of parking. It is handicap accessible providing handicap parking spots and ramps to sidewalks.

Generally, waiting for your appointment time is minimal. But if we are slightly behind schedule, a pleasant waiting room is offered for your convenience. Magazines, television, and toys for your children are available.

Vision Rehabilitation - Low Vision

Vision Rehabilitation, also known as Low Vision, uses high powered microscopes, telescopes, lighting systems, and electronics to help an individual who has had a loss of vision from an eye disease see better. It does not restore vision but hopefully makes the best use of the remaining vision. This specialty service provides the patient with hands on use of Low Vision devices. Due to the many demonstrations, plan on more than one visit for this evaluation.


Vision Therapy - Eye Exercises

Vision Therapy, also known as eye exercises, is performed to improve focusing and coordination of the eyes. Just like calisthenics strenghens and conditions the muscles of the body, eye exercises are used to do the same for the muscles of the eye. Exercises are given for "homework" and progress is monitored periodically at the office. Not only are vision therapy techniques useful for school and reading but also for patients participating in sports since not only does it work on muscle coordination but also on eye tracking and hand-eye coordination.
